This all took place on the 9th of March
Last Friday I went up to Saltholme to look for a glossy ibis that had been reported. No news that morning. The trail had gone quiet.
So I pulled the car up side on to the feeding station at Cowpen Bewley CP. With camera at the ready I passed the time photographing yellowhammers, bullfinch and reed buntings.

No further news came of the ibis so I decided to go to Baildon near Shipley again [second visit] to try to see the dipper at SE158385, just east of the railway bridge. I spent an hour going east and west along the river bank until eventually I saw a dipper by the bridge. Assuming it was the black-bellied dipper I began to photograph it. However when I got back home and began to process the images it became clear that although this bird had quite a dark belly to me it seemed likely it was our normal white-throated dipper. Decide for yourselves!
